This device is called a ‘carro’ and I saw it in use a lot in Tupiza, Bolivia, where this photo was taken. In a country where a lot of people don’t have cars it’s an easy way to move heavy goods around. I saw people use them to transport goods to shops, for instance, and to the street market. I like the textures of the wood, the stone and the cobbles in this photo. And the number 45.
