I must have been having a bad day as I picked apart the agapanthus bloom and rearranged the pieces to make this image with my scanner. As mentioned on another image, I used the scanner software to “expose” the image, adjusting it to get the light falloff I want, the color, and so on. I have to take scanned images into Photoshop to clean up the dust, one of the unavoidable hazards of using this kind of technique. But the result is a nice large file that can be used to make a sizable print.

Agapanthus is also known as “Lily of the Nile”. In New Zealand, it’s regarded as close to being a weed, but here in Alberta, we are unable to grow it and I wish we could.
