Film photo of a seagull in flight over the waterway between Balboa Island and Newport Beach.

Photo taken on Kodak EktaChrome E100VS film (and cross processed) with a Diana+ camera as part of my $50 Film Camera project entry. It’s a fun little camera, and I love the fact that it uses medium format film.

In this particular photo, I had scared the bird from its perch and taken the shot “from the hip”. This was actually my 3rd or 4th attempt at something like this, and my first success. I was photowalking with a few friends, and Bryan Villarin caught me taking this photo.

    I really like this image–I love the tilt, the vignetting, the bright color. I have an as yet unused Holga–this is inspiration for me to get going with it. Too many things to try, too little time to do it all! regards, dawn
