Urban Dreams . . . by Andreas Manessinger
I am not a typical macro photographer, although I use macro lenses quite often. Used in street photography, macro lenses open a portal to another world, to a world of light and abstraction.
The left side of this image is a small sticker on a traffic sign post, an advertising for “American Hardcore”, a video about the history of punk, and this sticker is not much larger than a match box. The right side are rear lights of cars waiting at a crossing.
I have used this image on the poster and the invitations for my recent exhibition in Villach, Austria. It is also on my current set of business cards. Nikon D300 and Sigma 70/2.8 at f2.8, 1/30s and ISO 1250.
