Spring Crazies . . .     by Cody Redmon

Image of Montana's Crazy Mountains in spring from the Shields Valley.

This is one of my favorite scenes in the Shields Valley, north of my home about 15 minutes. Beautiful at all times of the year, the spring is especially nice with the brilliant greens and snow still on the mountains. It snowed here this past week, but warmer days appear to have arrived in earnest and I expect the snow line to recede quickly in the coming weeks.

  1. Wow! I don’t know what to say… I am an amateur, but very much an enthusiast. I have been getting to know my camera (Canon EOS 40D) a little more day by day for the past two months. I would kill (metaphorically speaking) to take pictures this cool! This picture is awesome! NOT a very original comment, not very professional or useful, but I couldn’t help weighing in after looking at this photo. Thank you for this. LT

  2. This is a great comment, Luther, no need to be original or anything else…just taking a moment to share your thoughts is more than enough for most photographers. Just that little feedback is enough to keep many going through the ‘peaks and valleys’ of the passion, so for that I thank you. The 40D is a fantastic ‘prosumer’-grade camera, I bet you’re enjoying the heck out of it. Again, thanks for your support, Luther.

  3. I can’t believe I never commented on this photo, CR. It leaves me humbled and speechless, all this beauty you captured here.

  4. Thanks Vicki, comments like that leave me humbled and speechless. Have we photographed together on that side of the Shields before?
