This photo was taken as I made my way through the Painted Desert in Arizona. This area is absolutely breath-taking with its desert scenery and layered formations of mountains and valleys. If you ever find yourself in East Arizona, you MUST stop and take a look.

The first thing that caught my eye in this scene at the time were the sun rays — they were brilliant! I shot this at a fairly wide angle such that a big chunk of sky would be included and those rays would be captured. Another interesting part of this photo, in my own view, is the fact that the small mountain and the cloud just above it have a striking similarity in shape and size.

  1. I really like what you have done with this. How you got from A to Z was interesting to see and clearly shows that you have to look more closely at your images before you decide to bin them.
