Taken along the evening shores of Yellowstone Lake, this image was an attempt to capture a calm and pleasant mood as I watched the familiar yellow orb rise quietly in a blue world.

Cody,
I think you perfectly caught the calm and pleasant mood!
Thank you, Ulla, I appreciate your feedback and am glad you can feel the mood of the evening. It was so pleasant out and I’m happy I could share it with others.
beautiful shot, this is the type of picture that would lend itself well on the cover of a new age album
Hi Larry, thanks for your comment. It was definitely a peaceful and serene evening, a little new age music probably would have been a nice soundtrack for the session. I’ve actually always had a secret desire to do album covers, now you’ve got me thinking…
You can almost feel the stillness and smell the moist air in this–the strong blues in it are wonderful.
great shot, great composition, great mood.
@Dawn – Thanks for your feedback. I’m always a bit worried about the blues in this one, actually. Monitors are so different these days…sometimes they do unintended things to color!
Glad it looks good on your end.
@Mario – I’ll take that as a great compliment, thank you Mario!
Yet another example of the fine photography by Cody Redmon. Beautiful colors and framed perfectly. Cody captures the thoughts in his mind and puts them in print to share with the rest of us. We are better for it.
Thanks, Indigo, those are some very kind words. I do, however, give all credit to nature…I was there and captured it, but nature was doin’ the talking.
Thank again.
Another awesome photograph! I particularly like the streak of reflection that the moon is casting down on the lake.
Hey BoatSlips, many thanks for your comment. Photographing on water has its advantages!
@Cody Redmond – Yes, commenting on the water has many advantages. You do great work!
Oops! I meant to say “photographing”, not commenting – I aplogize for that….
