Field in Rows . . . by Cody Redmon

Some of my favorite regional landscape elements are field rows, a kind of organic circuitry that run on the language of irrigation. These rows often create concentric outlines or parallels which follow any contour of the land which falls in their path. Whether holding the new season’s fresh green tips or the signs of last year’s bounty, their geometry makes for some amazing scenes. A favorite technique of mine is to take a relatively ‘busy’ scene like this one and create the feel of minimalist intent by selectively positioning a few key elements.
