Bushfire Auction – Winding Country Road . . . by Neil Creek

The summer sun sets on the dry grass fields and native forests of country Victoria, near Mansfield. A lone fencepost stands beside a winding gravel road, passing through the countryside. This photograph was awarded “Best Colour Digital Photo” and “Best in Show – Photography” in the 2006 Royal Melbourne Show.
This image is is different from most here on the Fine Art Photoblog, as it is not for sale via the regular means. Rather a single, signed, fine art photo print is up for auction to raise money for the survivors of Victoria’s recent tragic bushfires. In Australia’s worst natural disaster, more than 180 people lost their lives, 7000 were rendered homeless and nearly half a millions hectares of land destroyed.
For the full details of the auction, whose proceeds will be going to bushfire survivors in its entirety, click on the “More Info” link below. There you may bid on this unique print of the very landscape that was so ravaged by the worst bushfires ever seen.

Love this image. When i see photos like this with their colour and depth it really puts current artists like Banksy to shame. This is fantastic. Would love to see this on a huge canvas print.
great shot! the light here is just wonderful
