El Faro, Coloñia del Sacramento, Uruguay . . . by Andrew Gibson

Coloñia del Sacramento is a photographer’s dream. It’s the oldest town in Uruguay and was built by the Portugese on the banks of the Rio de la Plata opposite Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. It’s famous for it’s beautiful colonial buildings, cobbled streets and old cars. It’s also a population short break destination for Argentinians, as it’s just a short ferry trip from the capital.
This photo was taken in the late evening just as the last light was fading from the sky. The lighthouse (El Faro) is still in use today. Look carefully and you’ll see the red glow from it’s lamp.

This is a gorgeous shot, I did take a few photos there but didn’t think of taking an evening shot like this. Beautiful
