This bridge over a storage lake of the river Drau (Carinthia, Austria) was re-built some years ago. It is still so narrow, that it’s not possible for two cars to pass each other. I took this image one early summer morning in June 2007.
This image is on the cover of the Summer 2008 issue of “FreeFall Magazine, Canada’s Magazine of Exquisite Writing“.
The image was shot with a Sigma 10-20 at 17mm and f11 on a Nikon D200.
Signed prints available for $490 USD.

This is incredible…
Thanks. The bridge is painted yellow, and along with the light coming from the reflections of the sky in the water, this made for a ghastly green. I simply had to do it in B&W
When first viewing this photo I was awed and slightly nauseated. The angle and positioning is amazing because it really makes me think about what the object in the photo is. The lines are quite successful at pulling my eyes to the back of the bridge to the small triangle. The shapes of the support beams make it almost difficult to look outside of them and see the rest of the photo. I like that you did do b&w, I think the color would have made it less interesting and would not have created the pull that the b&w creates.
Wow, speechless. Being in the water industry myself, I have a deep and appreciation and respect for water (after all, we are made of mostly water!). And seeing this amazing photography which captures the stillness and beauty of water below the bridge (at an amazing angle) brought out a genuine sense of awe in me…there’s simple beauty all around us. Oh, and it certainly doesn’t hurt to have your great photography skills either. =)
